Brazilian e-commerce on the rise: in 2025 it should reach 235 billion in revenue

Brazilian e-commerce is experiencing a phase of accelerated growth, with expectations of reaching revenues of almost R$235 billion in 2025, according to the Brazilian Electronic Commerce Association (ABComm). After growing 10.5% in 2024, totaling R$204.3 billion, the sector is expected to continue expanding with the adoption of new technologies and the expansion of digital payment options, such as Drex, the digital real developed by the Central Bank of Brazil.

For the fashion sector, this growth brings countless opportunities, but it also requires attention to legal details so that online operations are in compliance with the legislation and protected against risks.

With the projected increase in the average ticket to R$539.28 and the volume of orders reaching 435.6 million in 2025, Brazilian e-commerce continues to evolve significantly. More than 94 million Brazilians are expected to make online purchases next year, up from 91.3 million in 2024, driven by the convenience and personalization offered by digital platforms.

This scenario creates a fertile field for fashion brands of all sizes. Whether for those already operating in e-commerce or for brands looking to enter this environment, e-commerce offers a promising market. The fashion sector, in particular, has shown strength in this environment, but it is essential that companies are legally prepared to deal with the complexity of digital operations.

The digital transformation has brought new opportunities, but also new responsibilities for fashion brands that want to operate or expand in e-commerce. Aspects such as protecting consumer data, adapting contracts with suppliers and partners, complying with online sales legislation and labor issues related to temporary employees and freelancers are just some of the challenges that need to be addressed.

With the introduction of new technologies such as Drex, the digital real, brands will have an even easier time carrying out secure transactions, but they must also ensure that their operations comply with current regulations. Having legal advice specialized in fashion law is essential to ensure that the brand is protected from potential legal and operational problems.

Brazilian e-commerce will continue to grow and offer new opportunities for fashion brands in 2025. However, to ensure success in this highly competitive environment, more than a good sales strategy is needed. Ensuring that your operation is legally secure and in compliance with the legislation is crucial to avoid future risks and litigation.
